SEL Group was founded by Danielle Matarasso with a simple idea: to build next generational family business. Inspired by the values of her own family’s third-generation textile business based in Montreal, SEL Group is grounded in a deep respect for hard work, community, and culture. Our mission is to acquire and operate an enduringly small business with the same care and long-term commitment that defined the family business we grew up around.

Danielle brings over 15 years of experience spanning finance, accounting, sales, operations, and market strategy. Most recently, she served as an operating executive at a Chicago-based technology firm, where she helped shape growth and lead cross-functional teams. Her background also includes M&A advisory and accounting, providing a strong foundation for thoughtful, long-term business stewardship.
